Anyone who suffers from Hashimoto’s is intimately familiar with the thyroid. Probably more so than almost anyone else on Earth. For most people, the innocuous little butterfly-shaped gland in their neck just doesn’t deserve a second thought. After all, you don’t spend your day thinking about your kidneys, your liver, or pancreas. No. Those organs function properly. They do their thing. So why would you need to waste even a single thought on them?
That is how it is for most people and their thyroid. They don’t spend any time at all thinking about how essential the thyroid is. How it impacts weight, energy, body temperature, breathing, heart rate, cholesterol levels, and even the central nervous system. They don’t think about how dramatically different their lives would be if all of those things went out of whack. They don’t think about how much of their life would be taken from them.
